Reishi is traditionally known in TCM as the "mushroom of immortality," with a calmer, more relaxation-focused positioning than the more energising mushrooms elsewhere in our range like Cordyceps. Its beneficial compounds split across two different solubility classes — water-soluble polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble triterpenes — which is why we use dual water/ethanol extraction rather than the single-solvent extraction that leaves one class of compounds behind.
